Highfield House is situated in the beautiful historic town of Trim, which is renowned as one of Ireland’s most beautiful towns.

The award winning accommodation boasts magnificent views of Trim Castle, The Yellow Steeple and the River Boyne.

The house was built in the early 1800’s and was opened as a stately maternity hospital in 1834 and remained so up to the year 1983, making it 175 years old. Many local Irish and those who emigrated from this area would have been born in Highfield House. A host of original, antique interior features still remain including high ceiling rooms, wooden floors and wooden ceiling beams. Highfield House is surrounded by beautiful gardens for guests to experience.

The central location of Highfield House affords an opportunity to tour the various sights and attractions that County Meath has to offer, including Trim’s magnificent Anglo-Norman Castle and nearby Bective Abbey, the Hill Of Tara, Newgrange and Kells. Visitors can also enjoy the wonderful Heritage Trail along the River Boyne.

If you are flying in or out of Dublin Airport and don’t want to deal with all the traffic and congestion in Dublin then Trim is a perfect alternative, an easy 45 minute, 30 mile drive away. Access to the M1, M3, M4 and M50 motorways are all within 25 – 45 minutes drive making it easy to travel all around Ireland using Trim as your base or a convenient stop-over for those travelling to the west to Connemara or to the north to Belfast, the Titanic exhibitions and the Giant’s Causeway.

Come visit us at Highfield House where you will receive a very warm welcome with home-baked scones on arrival!
