The town of Seahouses is often called the gateway to the Farne Islands and there are boat trips available through most of the year to see the colonies of seals, puffins and other sea birds.
Nearby attractions include Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and Bamburgh, a few miles to the north and Alnwick Castle (with its links to the Harry Potter films), the Alnwick Garden and Cragside are a short drive south.
